McCARTHY, JACK - Jack McCarthy, 88, of Moncton, with his loving daughter, Debbie, at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Monday morning, November 7, 2011. Born in Springhill, NS, he was the son of the late Jack and Grace (Gallagher) McCarthy. Jack was a retired credit manager for Sears Canada, with over 25 years service. He was a Veteran of WWII and served overseas with the RCAF in Burma for two years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch #6, Moncton Golf & Country Club, the Moncton Press Club, the Air Force Veterans Club and attended Wesley Memorial United Church. Jack’s passions were family, golf, friends, golf and the love of debate and did we mention golf? Jack will be deeply missed by his daughter, Debbie Bryan; special friends, Diane and Ralph Hayden of Moncton; one nephew and two nieces and his many friends. In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (2005); granddaughter, Lisa; son-in-law, Jim and sisters, Shirley and Audrey.

Moncton Legion Branch #6 Veterans Memorial Service on Thursday, November 10, 2011, 11:00 am, followed immediately by the Celebration of Life Service for Jack at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995).
