The death occurred peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside, on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, of Gertrude Mae Trainor (nee Savidant) of Summerside, aged 92 years. Gertrude was born on Sept. 25, 1919, in Summerside, to her late parents Vince and Mary Ann (nee Bernard) Savidant. Beloved wife of the late Emmett Trainor and loving mother of Bob (Donna), Wayne (Joanne), Dewey (Judy), Darrell (Elsie) and Robbie (Linda). Also lovingly remembered by her 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Survived by her sisters Theresa (Keith) Aldrich and Marie Richard all of Ontario, her sisters-in-law Theresa Ferguson of Ont., Dolly Trainor of Charlottetown and Mildred Savidant of Summerside. Besides her husband and parents, Gertrude was predeceased by her children Vernon, Armond and Gail in infancy, her sisters Laura, Florence, Doris and Maude, brothers Vincent, Frank and Leonard Savidant and several brothers and sisters-in-law. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Thursday, Nov. 10, for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside. Memorial donations in Gertrude’s memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or to CNIB would be greatly appreciated.
