EDWARDS, Irene Marion — 76, Newport Station, Hants Co., and resident of Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011. Born September 8, 1935 in Three Mile Plains, she was the daughter of the late Walter Sr. and Pearl (McCarthy) Riley. Irene liked baking, spending time with friends and doing puzzle books. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ronald Edwards, Dykeland Lodge, Windsor; daughters, Faye, Newport Station; Carol Benedict (Lynn), Three Mile Plains; son, Billy (Kim), Newport Station; granddaughters, Lori Ainslie, Three Mile plains; Lauren Edwards (Chad), Ottawa; Amanda Miner; grandsons, Jason Archibald and Sheldon (Ellen) Miner; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Ainslie, Three Mile Plains. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Walter Jr., Harold and James; and sister, Maude. Special thanks to the staff at Dykeland Lodge for the care given to Mom during her stay. Arrangements were entrusted to Lohnes-DeMont Funeral and Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family received visitors Sunday, October 30 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 31, Rev. Tom Henderson officiating. A reception followed in the funeral home's Elmcroft Reception Centre. Interment was held in Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix. Donations in memory of Irene may be made to the St. Thomas Anglican Church or Friends of Dykeland Lodge.
