The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, of Lois Blanche Skerry (nee Gordon) of Summerside, aged 86 years. Lois was born on Aug. 9, 1925, in Alma, to her late parents James and Empress (nee McNeill) Gordon. Beloved wife of the late Merle Skerry and loving mother of Faye (James) Bourque and Blaine, all of Summerside. Survived by her sisters June (Hansen) Oliver of Summerside, Ruby Smith of Nova Scotia, and Shirley Sanders of Ontario, her sister-in-law Shirley Skerry of Grand Tracadie and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Lois was predeceased by her brothers John Owen and Donald Gordon and her brother-in-law Albert Smith. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Thursday, Nov. 10, then to Peoples’ Cemetery, Summerside, for a graveside committal service at 2 p.m. By personal request there will be no visiting hours or funeral service held. Memorial donations in Lois’s memory to the P.E.I. Humane Society or to the Prince County Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be greatly appreciated.
