Corcoran
The funeral was held Oct. 24 at Assumption Catholic Church in Powell River, B.C. for Catherine (Kay) Corcoran (n. MacLellan) who sadly passed away after a long struggle with cancer on Oct. 19. Kay was born in Cardigan in 1931 and raised her six children in Summerside before moving to British Columbia to be with her family in 2000. She was predeceased by her loving husband Leo Corcoran (RCAF) in 1966. Kay leaves behind many close relatives and friends on the Island and across Canada including her brother Charlie (Janet) MacLellan of Cardigan and her sister Mary (John) Dicks of Moncton, N.B. Her children, Frank, Jo-Anne, Mary, Judy, Donna and Leah, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild greatly miss her and take comfort in her strong faith of eternal life in Christ. A Rite of Commendation (burial) will be held at St. Paul's cemetery, Summerside, on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m., with a reception to follow.
