Another angel slipped into heaven Tuesday, Nov 8, 2011. It is with mixed emotions we announce our Mother is finally at rest after many years of illness. Mom passed away at the An Cala Unit of the CBRH. Born Lorraine Elizabeth, she was the eldest daughter of John and Eliza (Wheeler) Druggett, Lark Harbour, Bay of Islands, Newfoundland. Surviving and holding her memory close are her children, Philip (Pam), Marion (David Humphrey), and Brian (Barbara MacGillivary) all of Sydney; Grandchildren, Amy (Laurent Jeunet), Rebecca (Cruise Slater), Justin (Nicole Porter) Sarah and Avery; Siblings, Lillian (Gordon Dunn) Prime Brook, John Druggett (Carol) Kippens, Newfoundland and Debbie (Brian MacLeod) Howie Centre as well as many loving nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Mom was also a “Special Nanny” to Meghan, Andrew and Patrick. Beside her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Rudolph (Rudy) Mouland, her long time friend and companion Selby Gosse, and sisters Isabel Wheeler and Loretta Wheeler. Lorraine was a member of First United Church, and The Sydney Steelworker’s Pensioner’s Club. After raising her family, Mom worked as a PCW at the “old “ Cove Guest Home and the Spring Garden Villa until illness necessitated her early retirement. For many summers she enjoyed the company of her family, friends and visitors at the summer cottage in Sangaree where everyone was welcomed at her door. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A funeral service celebrating her life will take place 11:00am Saturday, Nov. 12/11 Sydney Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cape Breton Chapter of the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Hospice Palliative Care of Cape Breton, or the charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sydney Memorial Chapel.
