Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, Elizabeth R. (Betty) Shanahan of Riverhead, Harbour Grace, age 85 years. Predeceased by husband Robert, brothers Maurice, Edward, Michael, James and Bernard Mahoney, sisters Mary Meaney, Margaret Mahoney and Ann Wade, son-in-law Peter Foley. Leaving to mourn, five daughters: Isabel Shanahan, Hull, PQ, Christine (Brian) Manning, St. John's, Marie (Sandy) Duffett, Mount Pearl, Bernice Foley, Dauphin, MB and Patricia (Dave) Regular, Harbour Grace; seven sons: Kevin (Vane), Sudbury, ON, Robert Jr. (Judy), Goulds, Edward (Darlene), Espanola, ON, Reginald (Dianne), Riverview, NB, Nicholas (Carol Ann), Mount Pearl, Vincent (Gail), Barrie, ON and John (Tina), Riverview, NB; thirty-three grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Harvey Street, Harbour Grace after 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10. Funeral Mass to take place on Saturday, November 12 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Riverhead, Harbour Grace. Interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Harbour Grace.
