THORNTON, ZENAS WENDALL - Zenas W. Thornton of Waterville, York County, NB passed away November 10, 2011 at the Upper River Valley Hospital. Zenas was born at Waterville, NB in 1946, a son of the late James and Willa (Stairs) Thornton. He was employed for several years with St. Anne Nackawic Pulp and Paper as a woodroom foreman before his retirement in 2001. Zenas enjoyed watching the Montreal Canadiens, four wheeling, and working in his woodlot, but his greatest love was his grandchildren. He is survived by his sons, Ashley Thornton, Jonathan Thornton, both of Waterville, NB and Raymond Thornton (Angie), Nackawic, NB; his grandchildren, Kage, Kendal, Niklas, Rayanne, Kaitlyn, Dylan and Hailey; a good friend, Patricia Ward, Fredericton, NB; a special niece, Janice Bragdon, Campbell Settlement, NB; his sisters, Gwen Christie, Waterville, NB, Delores Kaley, Temperance Vale, NB and Edith Brewer, Hainesville, NB; his brothers, Arden Thornton (Marguerite) and Delmont Thornton (Lorraine), both of Waterville, NB and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Zenas was predeceased by two sisters, Waneta Schriver and Noreen MacLellan and three brothers, Gerald, Vernon and Alden.
Visitation will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Friday, November 11, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Russell Morehouse officiating. Interment will follow in the Waterville Cemetery.
