GILBERT, WESLEY WILLIAM- 77, Mushaboom passed away Friday October 30, 2009 in
Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, Sheet Harbour. Born March 16, 1932 in Coles Island, N.B., he
was a son of the late Frank and Mildred (West) Gilbert. Wesley was a fire fighter in the Air Force
for 8 years, a member of the Dartmouth Police for 2 years moving on to the CNR Police retiring
after 29 years of service, a member of Sheet Harbour Legion Branch No. 58. Wesley enjoyed
dancing, playing cards and was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan. Survived by his wife of 48 years,
the former Judith Young; son, Bill (Cindy), Truro; sisters, Francis (Dave) Estey, Margaret Gilbert
and Kaye Skeat; brother, Eugene, all of Ontario. Predeceased by son Mark, sister Marilyn Austin.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of D.S. Crowell & Son Funeral Home. No
visitation by request. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 3 at 2 p.m. in St. Paul’s
Anglican Church, Mushaboom, Rev. Kevin Frankland officiating. Burial to follow in the new
cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to St. Paul’s Cemetery or charity of
