Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex, St. John’s on Saturday, October 31, 2009, George E. Butt of Carbonear, age 94 years. Predeceased by parents: Joseph and Margaret B., brothers: Ben, Will, Chesley and Charles; sisters: Leah, Maude, Florence and Doris. Leaving to mourn, wife: Jessie M.; one son: Roy W. (Gloria), St. John’s; two daughters: Patricia (Raymond) Mills, Grand Falls-Windsor and Margaret (Bob) Mills, Whitby, ONT.; six grandchildren: Trudy, Kimberly (Rodney), Wanda (Guy), Nancy (Peter), Chad (Margaux) and Matthew; eight great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Nathan, Jared, Timothy, Gregory, Kailee, Macy and Hudson; special nephew: Carl (Marie) Power, Moncton, N.B..; sisters-in-law: Eleanor Butt, Carbonear and Phronie (Gordon) Morris, Ontario; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear until noon Monday. Funeral service to take place Monday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. from Noel’s memorial chapel Carbonear.
