At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, of Glenn Thelma Paynter of Charlottetown, formerly of Summerside, aged 90, wife of the late Ernest Paynter. Glenn was born in Ellerslie on Jan. 9, 1921, daughter of the late John J. and Katherine (Rayner) Coughlin. Cherished mother of Catherine (Don) Trathen, Edmonton, Alta., and Wilma Smith (Granger MacPhail), Charlottetown. Dear mother-in-law of Norma Paynter, Summerside. Loving grandmother of Tracy Trathen (Karen), Edmonton; Shelly (Allan) Trottier, Edmonton; Kent (Lynne) Paynter, Grand River; Meagan Smith and Bailey Smith both of Charlottetown. Great-Grammy of Lexy, Shaun, Kayla, Colten, Cayle and E.J. Dear sister of Earl (Dolly) Coughlin, Ellerslie. Glenn was predeceased by her parents, husband, son Carman, daughter Ernestine in infancy, granddaughter Heather Ambler, great-granddaughter Jennifer, brothers and sisters Eileen Bridges, Channing Coughlin, Wanda (Russell) Coughlin, Lloyd Coughlin, and James Coughlin. Resting at the Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel, then forwarded to the Trinity United Church, Summerside, for visiting hours Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment to follow in the Bideford United Church Cemetery. In memory of Glenn, memorials to the Trinity United Church or the Gideon Bibles would be appreciated.
