The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, November 11, 2011, of Ira Craswell, beloved husband of Adele (nee Pippey), of South Rustico, age 83.
Ira was the devoted father of Clifford, Wayne (Patricia), Gary (Carol), Alan (Teresa), Bonnie Rhynes (George) and Dean (Sandra); loving grandfather of Sharon Cronin and Tanya Kennedy (Chris); Aaron Craswell; Matthew, Kelly and Amy Craswell; Robert and James Rhynes; and Darcy and Lauryn Craswell; and great-grandfather of Kyle, Madison and Carly. He is also survived by his brother, Roy; sisters-in-law, Helen Craswell, Ruth MacDonald and June Middleton (Bob); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ira was predeceased by his parents, Wesley and Lena (Roberts) Craswell; brother, Athol; sisters-in-law, Shirley Craswell and Pearl Pippey; and brother-in-law, George MacDonald.
Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Rd., New Glasgow, for visitation on Monday, November 14, 2011, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral will be held in the Central Queen’s Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at 2 p.m. Interment in St. Mark’s Anglican Church Cemetery, South Rustico.
