Winston MacDonald
MacDONALD, WINSTON DURWOOD - September 26, 1941 - November 4th, 2011 - Son of the late Ina and late Bliss MacDonald of Nashwaak Bridge. Winston passed away suddenly after emergency surgery at Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, BC on November 4th, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Linda (née Invererity) in Courtenay, BC; daughter Lori and her partner, Pieter Blokker in Vancouver, BC; son Jamie and wife Jenna in Powell River, BC; his two beautiful grandchildren - Cedar, 10, and Feather, three months; several nieces and nephews, and sister Linda MacDonald in Fredericton, NB. In addition to his parents, Winston was predeceased by his sister, Maxine Davies; brother, Ernest MacDonald and nephews Gary MacDonald and Jeff Davies. Winston loved the outdoors and observing nature on his daily walk, hike or bike. He had a passion for hunting and fishing, and hunted with bows and arrows he had so skillfully crafted. Winston belonged to Firemaker Primitive Skills Society, where he was a respected elder.
A celebration of his life will be held on November 19th, 2011 in Courtenay, BC. There is no formal funeral by his request and his ashes will be scattered in the areas of Courtenay that he loved.
