Elliott (Murdock)(Murphy) - Georgie Eileen - Passed away peacefully at age 86 at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, on Sunday, November 13, 2011. Mom was born on January 13, 1925 in Earltown and was the daughter of the late Duncan (Walter)and Mary Jane(Janie) (MacNutt) Murphy. Her greatest enjoyment was her family. She especially enjoyed the Christmas Holiday with her son, granddaugters and great grandchildren at the farm. She would always put everyone's needs before her own. She was a hard worker and a great cook. There were many family gatherings that usually ended with a great meal. She enjoyed music, old time dances and any social gathering. She is survived by her husband Charles, son Sylvan (Karen), daughter Vivian (Douglas) MacKay, granddaughters Charlene (James) West, Tracy (Joe) Munro, Darlene MacKay, Maxine (Bobby) MacInnis, great grandchildren Sandy and Madison Munro, Hayden and Taylor West, sisters Viola Wall and Winnie (Curtis) MacKinnon, stepdaughters Holly and Robin Elliott and stepson Darrell Elliott, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Ronald Murdock, sister Allie Ross, brothers, Robert, Arthur, Alburn, Gordon, Curtis, Merle and Roland Murphy. Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, with visitation at 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, and funeral on Thursday, November 17 at 11 am at the funeral home with Dr. Brian Ross officiating. Reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will be at the Earltown Village Cemetery, Barrichon Road, Earltown. Family flowers only. Donations in Mom's memory may be made to the Pallative Care Unit of the Colchester Regional Hospital, the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society or the Earltown Cemetary. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the Pallative Care Unit of the Colchester Regional Hospital for the exceptional care given to Mom during her stay at the hospital.
