CHAMBERS, WESLEY - Wesley Parker Chambers, 88, of the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton, and formerly of Petitcodiac, passed away at his residence on November 14, 2011. Born in Mechanic Settlement, he was a son of the late William and Viola (nee Hubley) Chambers. Wesley worked as a heavy equipment operator at the Moncton Airport. He was a member of the Petitcodiac Baptist Church, and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch Branch #41, a past member of the Maplewood Cemetery Committee and the Petitcodiac Golf Course, and a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society. He was an avid woodsman and gardener, and he took great joy in his family. Wesley is survived by his wife, Verna Chambers (nee Mitton); his daughter, Lois McGibbon (Bill) of Anagance; his brothers: Bernard “Bud” Chambers (Blossom) of Musquodoboit Harbour, NS, and Everett Chambers of Moncton; his grandchildren: Ben McGibbon (Jennifer) of South Carolina, Hal McGibbon (Marjorie) of Petitcodiac, Jason Dunfield (Sharon) of Berry Mills, and Jeremy Dunfield of Anagance; great-granddaughter, Mila; special niece, Sharon Ogden and several other nieces and nephews; and son-in-law, Wayne Dunfield (Lynn) of Moncton. Besides his parents, Wesley was predeceased by his daughter, Barbara Dunfield (2005); his sister, Doreen Harrison; his brothers: Don Chambers, Murray Chambers, and Dean Chambers.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm; the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 41 will be holding a tribute service on Wednesday at 6:45 pm, all at Armstrong’s Funeral Home, Petitcodiac; his funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 pm in the Petitcodiac Baptist Church with Rev. Robert MacDonald presiding. Interment will be held in the Maplewood Cemetery. Donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
