On November 10th, 2011 after complications resulting from heart surgery, Mel left this world surrounded by his loving wife Phyllis, and his family.
Mel's life began on December 12, 1934 in Vancouver, BC, when Doug & Lucille Ross celebrated his birth. Ever since then, Mel enjoyed one celebration after the other.
He celebrated the birth of his two children, Kathy & Kerry, his marriage to Phyllis, the blending of two families into ONE great family, and many more achievements and milestones.
Mel leaves behind his soul mate of 36 years, Phyllis, his children, Kathy Johnston (John), Kerry Ross, Donna Smith (Harry), Brent Evans, Sandy Vollo (Bob), Michelle Evans (Kent) and Tammy Franzman. His 15 grandchildren, seven greats, his sister Bev Lose (Marv), his brother-in-law Ron Adcock (Eliza) and his many nieces and nephews.
Mel worked in the Refrigeration business in Vancouver and in 1971 moved to Kamloops and purchased Hagan Refrigeration. After many years, Mel retired in 1988 and took full advantage of every opportunity that came his way, especially if it meant spending time with Phyllis and his family. Mel had a unique sense of humour, was always ready to lend a hand, and his famous line that will be remembered by many.

Join us in celebrating a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother and Friend on November 18th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive, Kamloops, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Breast Cancer Research would be gratefully appreciated.
