Dorothy Elizabeth Barlow, 83, died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 at the QEII Infirmary, Halifax, N.S. Born on July 6, 1926, originally from New Glasgow, N.S. Dorothy graduated from the Prince County Hospital School of Nursing, and then worked as a nurse for 35 years at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside. She was a resident of Maplestone Enhanced Care, Halifax, N.S. for the last several years. She is predeceased by her husband, Harry Barlow and her parents, William and Violetta (Slater) Campbell. Lovingly remembered and survived by her daughters, Marilyn (David) Howells, Dartmouth, N.S.; Brenda (Randy) McMullen, New Glasgow, N.S.; Anne Barlow (partner, Paul Huhtala), Gores Landing, Ont.; Janet (David) Conrad, Tantallon, N.S.; her sister, Grace (Ken) Ingraham; nieces, Linda and Judy, Markham, Ont.; grandchildren, Stephen, Christine, Christopher, Jennifer, Sara, Tyler, Brandon, Amber, Colin and Drew and by six great-grandchildren. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Wednesday, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside, for funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Wellington. Visiting hours Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Church, Summerside; Wellington United Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
