The family of Bobby Johnston regret to announce his passing on October 29, 2009 at the Centenary Hospital, Scarborough, ON.
Bobby was the son of the late Robert and Stella (Black) Johnston of Sydney.
He received his early education in Sydney and later served in the Canadian Army, Black Watch Regiment, stationed in Gagetown, N.B., before moving to Toronto, where he resided until his passing.
He is survived by his wife, Jan; sons, Bobby (Julie), Stephen (Jamie), Glen (Patricia) and a daughter, Janet (Owen) Lane. Also surviving are seven grandsons, Cole, Duncan, Jake, Matthew and Lucas Johnston, Langdon and Logan Lane; sisters, Josephine (Buddy) Bennett, Harriet (Angus) Johnston, Sydney and Anna (Don) Fraser, Winnipeg. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
Bobby was predeceased by his brother, Roddy and grandson, Nicholos.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 1057 Brock Rd., Pickering, ON. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Cancer Society or charity of choice.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
