It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nelson Porter announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the age of 86 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Sadie and one daughter, Colleen (Wayne) Anstey of Deer Lake, four brothers: John (Irene) Porter of Saint John, New Brunswick, Alex (Phyllis) Porter of Lewisporte, Marshall (Doris) Porter of Porterville, Hubert (Pansy) Porter of Porterville, three sisters: Hilda Lewis of Gander, Margaret (Harold) Manuel of Lewisporte, Marina (Edward) Burry of Gander, two grandsons: Robert (Darlene) of Grand Prairie, Alberta, Greg of Edmonton and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Norman and Dulcie Porter and his two brothers: Arthur and Roy. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 19th at 2:00 p.m. at the Zion Pentecostal Church, Carolina Avenue, Stephenville with Pastor Moral Bess officiating. Interment to follow in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. As expressions of sympathy, flowers accepted or donations to The Gideons wold be greatly appreciated.
