YOUNG, NELSON - Nelson Garland Young, 77, of Anagance, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, November 14, 2011. Born in Harcourt, he was a son of the late Harry and Ethel (nee Fraser) Young. Nelson worked as an auto mechanic for many years before retirement. He enjoyed the country and his horses, and was an avid bowler and gardener. Nelson is survived by his wife of 49 years, Alice Young (nee Harper); his sons: Rodney Young (Marisa) of Anagance, and Robert Young of Petitcodiac; his daughters: Tamara “Tammy” Butler (Wayne), and Amanda Young (Dan Sloan), all of Ottawa; his brother, Chester Young of Moncton; his grandchildren: John Wayne, Samantha, Danielle, Destiny, Raya, Adam, Cory, and Cee-Jay; his great-grandchildren: Alex, Mia, Tanika, Genevieve “Jenny”, Sara, and Gracie; as well as by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents, Nelson was predeceased by his sister, Ingrid Cosman, and his brother, Clarence Young.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm; the funeral service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Derek Geldart presiding, all at Hillgrove Baptist Church, Hillgrove, NB. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, Petitcodiac.
