Richard Clayton Ryan
We, the family of the late Richard Ryan wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to family members and friends for their support and kindness shown to us during our recent loss. To all who attended the visitation and the funeral, those who travelled from out of town , sent flowers, Mass and sympathy cards, phone calls, made charitable donations, sent emails and online condolences as well as sent food to our home, our heartfelt thanks. Richard had a long and rewarding life for which he always told us how very grateful he was. He spent some months at New Waterford Heights and we are forever grateful for the kindness of all the staff and volunteers there. He spoke of you often remembering your kindness. We are especially grateful for the compassion, kindness and respect shown to Richard by the staff of the Cove Guest Home, Sydney, where he resided. It was very evident to everyone who spoke with him that he was very comfortable there and spoke often of the kindness of the staff. Thank you to every employee and volunteer from bottom floor to top, you made him feel welcome and at home. Thank you to the RCMP and the Cape Breton Regional Police Service for your support. Thank you to Milo and Patricia Crowe for looking after the meal at our home after the wake. Thank you to Father Everett McDow for the spiritual guidance shown to Richard at the Cove, as well as prayers at the funeral home. Thank you to Father Paul Murphy and the Holy Redeemer Parish, the servers, choir and CWL for a beautiful mass and tea reception. Thank you to the readers Simon Gillis, Granddaughter Jennifer Maher and niece Gail MacIver. Thank you to the pallbearers: grandson Michael Ryan, nephews Ray Ryan, Jim Ryan, David Ryan, Gus Ryan, Allan Ryan, Rick Ryan and Paul Ryan. Our thanks to Bill Curry and the staff of TW Curry Parkview for the comfort shown to our family. Also thank you for making Richard's final journey to Placentia, Newfoundland a smooth sail.
