Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, of Mr. J.E. "Ebbie" Devine of Charlottetown, aged 77 years. Beloved husband of Freda Devine (nee Campbell), and cherished father of Kevin Devine (Peggy MacDonald), Karen Devine, Mike (Kathy) Devine and Patti Devine (David Harrison). Ebbie was the loving grandfather of Brynn, Ryan, Jon-Eric, Kayla, Evan, Will, Christina, Aidan and Olivia. He will be deeply missed by his sisters and brothers, Gerry McKenna, Ernie (Thelma) Devine, Rosella (Dave) Marasciullo, Gerard (Jane) Devine, sister-in-law, Eileen Devine, numerous nieces and nephews, special family friend, Willie Ferguson, and his ever-present K-9 companion "Kato". Besides his parents, John T. "Jack" and Loretta (Pineau) Devine, he was predeceased by his sister, Leona Doyle, brother, Merlin Devine, and special niece Darlene Devine. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 10:15 Friday morning then transferred to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow in the family plot at The Roman Catholic Cemetery. If so desired memorials in Ebbie's memory can be made to The Upper Room Hospitality Ministry or Bedford MacDonald House.
