David Foster

David Foster of Royal Court, Riverview passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at The Moncton Hospital following a brief illness. Born in London, ON on July 27, 1920, he was the son of the late Andrew and Margaret (Livingston) Foster. David is survived by daughter Pam Griffin of Sackville, NB, son Andy (Dale) of St. John's, NL, grandson Dave Griffin of Saint John, NB, sister Grace (Jim) McBurney of Orangeville, ON as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Zoe (2009) and brother George. David served in the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII. After the war he graduated from UBC as a Mechanical Engineer and in 1956 he and Zoe moved to Moncton. He worked for many years as Atlantic Region Superintendent of Equipment with the CNR. Following retirement he was a consultant with CANAC. David was a long time member of First Baptist Church and he was an avid bicyclist. Visitation at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Friday, November 11 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation or to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
