1941 - 2009

Clare Helen Carlin Blundell née Brassil of Kamloops, BC passed away on October 28th, 2009 with her family by her side after a brief battle with cancer.

She is survived by her husband Derek, daughters Jacqui (Peter) Martell of Kamloops and Michelle (Randall) Blundell-Dunkerley of Kamloops; grandchildren Matthew & Graeme Martell and Mackenzie & Pierah Blundell-Dunkerley; brother James (Tess) Brassil, sisters Joanne Gracie and Frances Whalan; mother-in-law Doris Blundell, brothers-in-law Brian (Marion) Blundell, Mark (Carolyne) Blundell and numerous nieces and nephews.

Clare was born in Sydney, Australia where she spent her early years. She came to Canada to teach for a year in 1967. She then met her loving husband Derek and decided to stay in Canada. She was the rock and foundation of our family. She was highly intelligent, loved to read and do crossword puzzles. Clare was the most beautiful person we knew.

She will be dearly missed by everyone.

A Celebration of Clare's life will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Zsigmond, Dr. Newmarch, and the nurses at 3 South in Royal Inland Hospital, and also to the nurses and volunteers at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home.
