Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on November 3, 2009, Sylvester Carew, age 84 years, of Witless Bay. Predeceased by his parents Bride and Tom Chris, sister Hilda (Jack) Cahill; brothers: Lar, Pad (Essie), Bern, Mart, Mike and Pete. Leaving to mourn his loving sister and brother-in-law Mary and Edward O’Brien; sisters-in-law: Kay Carey and Lizzie Carey; special buddy John (Sandra) Carey; nieces and nephews and a large circle of other family and friends and staff of Alderwood Estates, Witless Bay. Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Wednesday, November 4th from 4 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, November 5th from 2 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial from St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, Witless Bay at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 6th. Interment to follow at Holy Cross R.C. Cemetery, Witless Bay.
