REID, LYNN AUDREY - It is with great sadness that the family of Lynn Reid announces her death at the Beaverlodge Hospital in Beaverlodge, Alberta on Sunday, November 20, 2011 after a year long battle with leukemia. Born in St. Stephen, N.B. on November 15, 1956 she is survived by her husband Cameron Cole, originally of Nackawic, N.B. and for the last five years Beaverlodge, near Grand Prairie, Alberta. She leaves behind her father Charles Reid (Margaret) of St. Stephen, N.B., mother Beulah Reid of Bedford, N.S., sister Cheryl Reid O'Hagan of Bedford, N.S., brother Brian Reid (Denise Leighton) of St. Stephen, N.B., three step-children, Tracey Paul, Jenny Marie Paul and Austin Paul, one niece, Erin O'Hagan, one nephew, Paddy O'Hagan, aunts and uncles and several cousins. Lynn was a graduate of St. Stephen High School and UNB and was a Level IV Certified Accountant. She spent many years managing various businesses in the Fredericton area and in more recent years owned and ran her own restaurant there. In Grand Prairie, she continued her career as a corporate advisor and business manager. She was a gifted Animal Whisperer who took in many animals over the years and gave them loving homes. She was a competitive equestrian and dressage trainer. She was an artist who loved nature and could capture it on canvas with ease and beauty. She lent her beautiful singing voice to several events in the area and was a scholarship winner at the Kiwanis Music Festival in St. Stephen. An avid historian and genealogist, she spent many happy hours sitting in front of the computer researching the family tree. After ten years of being together, Lynn and Cameron "eloped" and were married in St. Lucia on March 2, 2010. They enjoyed exploring Alberta and B.C. together and with friends, but mostly she enjoyed visiting family and being at home with Cameron along with their dogs and cats.
Cremation took place in Grand Prairie and arrangements have been entrusted to S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home, Main Street, St. Stephen. The funeral service will be held at the Kirk McColl United Church in St. Stephen on Monday, November 28 at 11am, followed by spreading of ashes at The Point near her childhood home in Oak Bay and interment at Moores Mills Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Kirk McColl Church Hall.
