CALHOUN, BESSIE MYRLING - The passing of Bessie Myrling Calhoun of Fredericton, NB, formerly of Boiestown, NB, wife of the late Hazen Calhoun, occurred on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 10, 1918 in Bloomfield Ridge, NB, she was the daughter of Irvine and Violet (Greene) Van Horne. Bessie was a member of Boiestown United Church. Bessie is survived by her daughters, Shirley McCracken (Ken) of Fredericton, NB and Valerie Carson (Holly) of Bloomfield Ridge, NB; four grandchildren, Richard (Gwen) McCracken, James McCracken, Stacey (Bradley) Hogan and Corinne (Perry) Carson; five great grandchildren, Stephanie and Brian McCracken, Megan and Jonathan McCracken and Ryan Hogan; sister, Elaine Sowerby (Doyle) of York Harbour, ME; sister-in-law, Margaret Van Horne of Bloomfield Ridge, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughters, Coleen Calhoun and Wendy Fairley; grandchildren, Scott Fairley and Melanie Fairley; five brothers, Gerald, Leo, Harold, Dorne and Everett Van Horne.
Although there will be no visitation by request; a graveside service will take place at Bloomfield Ridge Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Boiestown United Church. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
