Mother passed away peacefully, at Seaview Manor in her 98th year on Nov. 3, 2009, with her family by her side.
She was born in Glace Bay, N.S. and was the daughter of the late Alice (Allen) and William Dye.
For many years she operated a convenience store at the family home on North Street, Glace Bay.
She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church and the ACW Guild.
She will be remembered for her commitment to fundraising and her participation in church functions.

Mother also loved the companionship of her dogs and had one at her side until she entered Seaview Manor 14 years ago. She always appreciated the kindness and special caring she received while a resident of the manor and all the faithful visits from her fellow church members, family, and friends. Her grandchildren will always remember how “Nanny” loved to spoil them.

I whispered softly when mother was dying as soon she would close her loving eyes.
The angels were waiting to bear her gently to her new home beyond the skies.
I kissed her for soon she would leave me and asked her to clasp me to her breast,
as she did in days of my childhood as she sang me to my rest.
Your son, Syl.
