COLLINS, FREEMAN - (1925-2011) - KOUCHIBOUGUAC, NB - Freeman Collins 86, of Kouchibouguac passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Regional Hospital, Moncton on Thursday, November 24th, 2011. Born in Kouchibouguac, he was the son of the late Frederick and late Elsie (Wood) Collins. Before retiring, Freeman worked as a carpenter. He was a member of the Richibucto Legion, Branch No. 30. He attended St. James United Church, Kouchibouguac. Freeman served overseas with the 32nd Light Infantry First Division in the UK, Holland and Germany. Freeman will be sadly missed by his daughter; Phyllis Kelly (late Gordon) of Kouchibouguac, two sons; Christopher (Eleanor) of Kouchibouguac, Elvin (Lisa McDonald) of Edmonton, AB, four grandchildren; Barbara, Bonnie, Sarah and Alec and several nieces and nephews. Freeman was predeceased by his wife; Greta (McAuley) Collins, two sisters; Emma Martin and Myrtle Collins and by three brothers; Melvin (killed in WW II), Austin and Guy.
Resting at Thompson’s Funeral Home with visitation on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, Sunday at noon until time of funeral. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 27th, 2011 at 2:00 pm, Thompson’s Funeral Home Chapel, Richibucto officiated by Reverend Galen Smith. Interment will be in St. James United Cemetery. Arrangements in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
