Viola Joan Smith, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Westville, she was a daughter of the late James and Gracina (Graham) Hale.
She was a resident of Stellarton and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Elaine (John) Kowalski, Scotch Hill, Pictou County; and Phyllis (Stephen) Dickson, Lyon’s Brook, Pictou County; three grandchildren: Michael and Linda White, Ian Dickson; great-grandchildren: Haley and Bauer Brophy, Layne White.
She was predeceased by her husband James Philip Smith, son Bruce Philip Smith; sisters: Thelma Jamieson, Mamie Saunders and Hazel Raskowski; brothers: Everett, James, Harold and Herbert.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
