It is with great sadness that the family of Malcolm Kendell announce his sudden passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Friday, November 6, 2009 at the age of 81 years. Left to mourn his passing is his wife of 57 years Gladys; daughter: Una (Roy Reid); son: Bruce (Janice); grandsons: David Reid, St. John’s, Andrew Reid (Jessica Park), Bradley and Stephen Kendell, Corner Brook; special son: Byron Sheppard; brothers: Eric (Irene) and Ira; sisters: Rita Beaton, Kay Fiander, Nora Greene and Muriel (Alex) Button; brothers-in-law: Fred (Jean) Reid and Ern (Marina) Reid; sisters-in-law: Sarah Thomas, Alice Smith and Molly Reid; as well as a large number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Charlie; brothers-in-law: Russell Beaton, George Fiander, Ken Reid, Charlie Reid, Wilfred Thomas and Ross Smith; and parents Josiah and Rachel Kendell. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Saturday, 7-9:00 p.m. and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 9th at 2:00 p.m. from St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church, Curling, Reverend Karen Laldin officiating with interment to follow at Mt. Patricia cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Diabetes Association.
