It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our mother, daughter, and sister, Colleen (Todd) Appleton (MacLeod) on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011.
Born Dec. 17, 1957, she was the daughter of Maureen MacLeod (Hurley) and the late Malcolm MacLeod.
Born in Glace Bay, she graduated from Morrison High School in 1976. She graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University with her Bachelor of Business Administration in 1992.
She will be sadly missed by the lights of her life, her sons, Chris and Colin and their father, Mark. Also survived by sisters, Trudy, Bernie (Keith), Viola (Brian), Shannon (Robbie), Kathy and brothers, Terry (Leanne), Jamie, Sean and Shane and mother-in-law, Shirley Appleton. Also survived by several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Besides her father, she was predeceased by nephew, B.J.; paternal grandparents, Mackie and Nell MacLeod and maternal grandparents, Ben and Gert Hurley and father-in-law, Tom Appleton.
Visitation for Colleen will be held on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will be held Saturday Dec. 3, 2011 in Patten Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m., interment St. Leo's Parish Cemetery, Glace Bay.
