Monica Bridget Morley, 85, died peacefully at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, on Nov. 5, 2009.
She was born in Glace Bay, N.S., a daughter of the late Joseph H. and Agnes (Curry) Morley.
She was a graduate of St. Anne’s High School, Glace Bay, and Mount St. Bernard Secretarial College, Antigonish. She worked for several years at Thompson & Sutherland Ltd., Glace Bay, before moving to Montreal and then Toronto to work.
In 1980 she returned to Nova Scotia and retired in Halifax, living and caring for her sister, Teresa. She was a devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church and a faithful member of St. Mary’s Basilica Parish.
Monica is survived by brothers, Fr. Frank, Fr. Fred and Fr. Tom, Sydney, N.S.; sisters-in-law, Judy Morley, Amherst, and Mary Morley, Halifax. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as grandnieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, Joseph, William, John, James, Charles, sisters, Dr. Mary L., Teresa, Sr. Agnes S. CH, and Sr. Alice S. CH.
Visitation Sunday, Nov. 8, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Anne’s Church, Glace Bay. Burial in St. Anne’s Cemetery.
