Elizabeth (Betty) Linehan (nee Critch)

Elizabeth (Betty) Linehan (nee Critch)

Date de décès : 30 novembre 2011

23 August, 1926 - 30 November, 2011. With great sadness we announce the passing of Betty at Admirals’ Coast Retirement Centre, Kelligrews. She is predeceased in life by her loving husband Frank (April, 2011); her parents Mary and Patrick; brothers Cornelius and Michael (WWII); sisters Cecilia, Nora, Margaret (Denis) Murphy, Mary (Denis) Meehan, Theresa (Austin) Linehan and Nellie (Maxwell) Warford; parents-in-law Margaret and Alban Linehan and sister-in-law Elizabeth (Vincent) Dalton. Betty was a doting wife to Frank for more than 54 years; a devoted and caring mother to her only daughter, Margaret and her partner Doug; four loving sons: Ralph and his wife Violet, Pat and his wife Sharon, Alban and his wife Judy and Leo and his partner Nicole. Tammy (Sean) Hearn, Jeffrey, Megan, Ashley and Brooklyn Linehan sadly mourn the loss of their wonderful Nanny. Caleb Sean Hearn will miss the great love of his Great-Nanny Betty. Betty is also survived by the many Linehan, Murphy, Warford, Critch and Dalton nieces, nephews and cousins. Mourning her loss, as well, are her dedicated dining table mates, neighbours, friends and the most wonderful staff at Admirals’ Coast and her many former neighbours and friends in Admirals Beach. Betty and Frank moved into Admirals’ Coast in 2008. She flourished in her new place; with her new friends, her great social life and just “being tended on”. Always an avid “card shark”, it wasn’t long before she had a table of great friends playing 120’s daily. She didn’t always get the trumps, but she had a ball each and every day. She never forgot those of lesser fortune and backed that up by spending countless hours knitting mitts and socks to warm poor souls each winter. She will be missed! At her request, cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving friends at Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in Admiral’s Beach on Saturday, December 3 from 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Sunday, December 4 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. followed at 2:30 p.m. by a mass in celebration of her life. Interment to follow. No flowers by request. In lieu, a donation may be made in her memory to the Salvation Army or Admiral’s Beach Bereavement Team (attention Mary Dobbin). Do something nice for someone today in her honour. She would like that. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Dunphy’s Funeral Home, Holyrood. Please visit www.dunphys.ca to sign the memorial guest book or to send a message of condolence.
