It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leonard William Hynes announces his passing on Friday December 2, at Legrow Health Center in Port aux Basques at the age of 88 years. Born at Millville, Leonard was the son of the late Martin and Frances Hynes. He was also predeceased by his loving wife Rita in 2009, son William in 2000, grandson Dion, brothers; Patrick and Earl, sisters; Mary, Kathleen, Margaret, Theresa, and Anne. A loving and devoted father, Leonard will be sadly missed by his sons; Kevin (Marie), Leo, Karl (Pam), Brian (Sharon), Doug (Laura), Glen. Daughters; Jean, Margaret (Lloyd), Marlene (Ted) with whom Leonard resided, Patti, Georgina (Jeff), Pamela (Danny). 29 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, sister in law Mabel Hynes, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation took place on Saturday from 7-9 PM and on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Church of the Precious Blood in St. Andrew's. Funeral mass took place on Monday December 5, 2 PM at Church of the Precious Blood, officiated by Father Edward Terry. Interment followed at Precious Blood Roman Catholic Cemetery.
