NEW GLASGOW – June B. Gratto, age 87 passed away peacefully on December 7, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
Born in Toronto, Ontario she was a daughter of the late George and Annie (Allen) Ellis.
June was married to Earl for 66 years, they enjoyed many vacations together. June enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping and dining out.
June is survived by sons, Brent (Winnie) Gratto, Riverton; Stuart (Francine) Gratto, Pembroke, ON; daughters: Fern (Stephen) Fitt, Stellarton; Marilyn Fraser, Stellarton; Marsha (Tom) Rorison, Riverton; grandchildren: Jennifer and Monique Gratto, Allen and Brian Gratto, Stephanie and Trevor Fitt, Brittany and Emily Fraser, Christopher and Jenna Rorison; great-grandchildren: Jessica, Katie Gratto, Michael and David Johnson and Katelyn Rog. June was also survived by Earl’s cousin Elsie Aikens and was expecting her first great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by her husband R. Earl, sisters Audrey and Verna, brother Harry.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel, Stellarton with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
