It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Martin announce her passing after a short illness at the Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, November 7, 2009, age 80 years. Predeceased by her husband Harry and son Frankie (Joe), brothers: Harold, Gordon, Frank, Alex and Eric; sisters: Dorothy, Rita, Jean and Nellie. Leaving to mourn her loving children: Sandra, Ottawa, Anne Russell (Dion), Cookie Meaney (Basil), Donna Duffett (Paul), Harry (Holly) and Jeannie Martin Finch (Chris); eleven precious grandchildren: Tiffany Hand Caron (Claude), Ottawa, Bill Hand (Angel), Calgary, Kimberley Manning Tucker (Sean), Kelly Manning Smith (Curtis), Jennifer Meaney Letto (Scott), Crista Meaney Ivany (Jeff), Christopher Duffett (Melissa), Holly Duffett (Jeramey), Amanda Martin (Jimmy), Ean and Emily Finch; seven great-grandchildren: Meagan and Emma Tucker, Brooklyn and Jaxon Smith, Lilly Ivany, Kaius Hand, and Chloe Jeanne Caron; sisters-in-law: Helen Crocker, Bertha Crocker, Marie Blackmore, Helen Phillips (Jim) and Geraldine Martin; brothers-in-law: Jim Martin (Aggie), Ontario, and Bill Miller, Cambridge; as well as many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Patrick’s Church, Patrick Street. Inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Special thank you to the nursing staff at CVICU Health Sciences Centre.
