Peacefully at Beach Grove Home on Monday, December 5, 2011 of Ruby Mae Bernard (nee MacDonald), formerly of Sherwood, aged 84 years.
Born in Glencoe, P.E.I., on December 29, 1926 to the late Benjamin and Mary MacDonald. Beloved wife of the late Harold Bernard. Loving mother to Fr. David Bernard, Rosanne (David) Murnaghan, Justin (Grace) Bernard, Eileen (Bruce) Curwood, Terry (Sandy) Bernard, Fr. Blair Bernard, Christopher Bernard and Bobby (Kamrini) Bernard. Ruby is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Dr. Aleisha, Sheena (Adam Stoddard), Katelyn and Kyle Murnaghan, Matthew, Jarrett and Kayla Bernard, Stephanie (Nick Plouffe) and Sean Bernard, Brianna and Ben Bernard; her sister, Peggy McInnis; and her brother, Joseph Christian.
Ruby was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Joseph MacDonald, Marie Corcoran, Wilfred MacDonald, Helen Murphy, Gerald MacDonald, Cecil MacDonald and Marion Hogan.
Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 9:45 on Saturday morning, then transferred to St. Pius X for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in the family plot at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown.
If so desired, memorials in Ruby's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Association of P.E.I.
