Mike passed away in St. Joseph Hospital, Toronto, Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009. Formerly of North Sydney, he was the son of Michael Anthony Sampson and Mary Josephine Andrea Sampson.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Mary Sampson, formerly of Glace Bay; his son, Ronnie (Liz); and his daughter, Sandra; four grandchildren, Katherine, Michael, Robbie and Amanda; sister, Theresa Marie Mackie (Danny); five brothers, Cecil (Judy), Bernie, Gordie (Evelyn), Murray (Ann) and Gerald (Mary).
He was predeceased by sisters, Marcella MacNeil, Veronica, Julia, Vivian Skinner, Eileen Armour and one brother, Cyril.
Mike had a great sense of humour, owned several guitars, and liked to lead sing-a-longs at home and at guest homes.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service at Ridley Funeral Home, 1:30 p.m., Nov. 15.
