It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Julia Georgina MacCormick, 70, on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, with her loving family at her side.
Born in Alder Point, she was the daughter of the late John and Celina (Devoe) Taylor.
A devoted and loving mother to her children, Georgina loved her games of crib and Yahtzee and watching her Toronto Blue Jays.
Georgina is survived by her children, John Angus (Brenda), Red Deer, Alta., David, Daniel (Sue), Albert (Donna), Roselyn, Charlene (Alex) (MacDonald), all of Georges River. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jonathan, Tyler, Miranda, Michael, Suzanne, Matthew, Patrick, Joshua and Nathan and one great-grandchild, Trinity. Also surviving are brothers, John (Bev) Taylor, Brantford, Ont., Harold (Bernice) Taylor , Florence, C.B., Cy (Michele) Taylor, Hamilton, Ont.; sisters, Loretta MacIntyre, Georges River, Theresa MacEachern, (Hugh) Big Bras d’Or, and Marie Gale (Sonny), Georges River; and good friend and daughter- in-law, Marie MacCormick. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Angus Daniel MacCormick.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Palliative Care, the VON, and the staff of the Northside General Hospital for their support and caring during her illness.
Respecting her wishes, cremation has taken place, a family service will be held.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Palliative Care of Cape Breton or the VON.
