SMITH: Phyllis Jean Margaret Smith (nee: Trimble) age 86 years, of Swift Current, SK, passed away December 1, 2011 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 2:00 P.M., from the Chapel of Warren's Funeral Home, with Reverend Jonathan Hoskin of the St. Stephen's Angican Church officiating. The eulogy was presented by a granddaughter Melissa Piercey-Smith and the organist was Joyce Moffitt. The pallbearers were: Brock Smith, Braden Smith, David Blakely, Daryll Kettner, John Moffitt and Richard Moffitt. The interment followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Jean is survived by a son Brian Smith and grandchildren: Melissa Piercey-Smith, Brock Smith and Braden Smith; sisters: Madeline (Sid) Moffitt and Kathy Blakely; a sister-in-law Lois Trimble and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by: her parents: Kennith and Hilda Trimble; husband Ralph Smith; son Frank Smith; brother Norman Trimble. Jean was born July 1, 1925 and raised in Swift Current, SK. She was united in marriage to Ralph Smith in 1947. The couple moved to Vanguard in the early fifties, where they raised their two sons Frank and Brian. She was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was an incredible baker and cook, renouned in the family for her famous butter tarts and other delectable breads. She enjoyed time spent with her son and grandchildren and shared a special bond with her three siblings. Memorial donations in her memory to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, would be appreciated by the family. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
