SIMPSON, ROYDEN "TED" - 1916-2011 - Royden "Ted" Simpson, 95, of Fundy Manor in Hillsborough went to be with his Lord and Savior, he passed away peacefully on Monday, December 12th, 2011 with his family by his side. Ted was born in Edgett's Landing on January 17th, 1916 the son of the late Lloyd and Lavangie (Terris) Simpson. He worked with the CNR until his retirement. Ted was a faithful member of the Valley Baptist Church and went there for over 70 years, rarely missing a Sunday, even in the last two weeks he was able to attend. He was a veteran who served with the Carton York Ground Force. He belonged to the Hillsborough mixed bowling league, he enjoyed the outdoors and loved his hunting and fishing. He looked forward to the Simpson Golf Tournament every year and always had a great day of golf with his family and friends. He had a special place in his heart for animals and especially horses. Ted was a special man who had a smile for everyone he met. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, tease and tell stories. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. "Let us all remember a funny story about Ted and have a good laugh for this is the way he want to be remembered." He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Sheila Steeves of Moncton; sons, Royden Simpson(Cheryl) of Hillsborough and Emmerson Simpson (Denise) of Moncton; cherished five grandchildren, Greg (Lynne), Shane (Heather), Andrew, Stephen (Chantal) and Jason; five great grandchildren; sister, Muriel Hawkes of Hillsborough; brothers, Joe Simpson (Lorna) of Hillsborough and Vaughn "Bun" Simpson (Gwen) of Surrey; sister-in-law, Anne Simpson of Hillsborough. He will also be sadly missed by his special companion, Jean Carey of Hillsborough and by several nieces and nephews and many good friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Beulah; brothers, Dick and Curtis; sisters, Marion, Shirley and Ruby.
He will be resting at the Valley Baptist Church with visitation on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Service will be held from the Valley Baptist Church on Friday, December 16th, 2011 at 11:00am with Rev. Bruce Alcorn officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further fellowship and for refreshments. Interment will be held in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, Moncton, NB.
