CAREY, JEANNETTE - Jeannette Carey, 70, of Moncton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at The Moncton Hospital following a sixteen year battle with Leukemia. Born in Montreal on August 31, 1941, she was the daughter of Arlene Castilloux (Poore) of Dieppe and the late Cyrille Castilloux. Jeannette was a retired employee of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital in the IT Department. She was an avid curler and served as President of the Beauséjour Business Ladies Club. While her children were growing up, she was an active member of St. Patrick’s Family Center. Jeannette was a selfless and loving mother; an amazing daughter; a true friend and a devoted companion. Jeannette was a kind and generous woman, and she touched many hearts. Jeannette is survived by her husband of 48 years, Patrick; five children: Deborah, Trish and Peter (Angela) all of Calgary, Robert (Melanie) of Dieppe, and Sylvia Maher (Derek) of Cranbrook; eight grandchildren: Malcolm, Morgan, Holt, Jake, MacKenzie, Dawson, Rydder and Hunter; her six siblings: Robert Castilloux (Marie) and Colette Gaudet (late Roland) both of Moncton; Lita Castilloux (Lorenzo), Micheline Gaudet (Ted) and Roger Castilloux all of Dieppe, Michel Castilloux (Diane) of Shediac; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Wednesday, December 14 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s R.C. Church, 41 Botsford Street, Moncton, on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 9:30 am. Interment will be in the Frenette Columbarium, Moncton.
