1917 - 2011

It is great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy "Dot" Newton on Saturday, December 10, 2011.

She was predeceased by her second husband Arnold Newton on August 25, 2004.

Left to mourn from her second marriage are Pam, Allan, Lorna (Stan), Ron (Kitty), Rick, and Denis (Cheryl). As well as 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Dorothy was a beloved wife, step-mother, sister, & friend. She was born on September 7, 1917. Dorothy met and married Arnold in their 70's. They had a great many years together doing the things they both loved travelling in their motor-home, fishing, camping, spending time with their children and grandchildren, and many good friends, as well as their beloved dog Toby.

A loving heart and a beautiful spirit she will be forever lovingly remembered.

The family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the Kamloops Senior's Village for the loving care they have given to our mother over the years, and to the Doctors and Nurses of the Kamloops Hospital who looked after Dorothy when she broke her hip in November.

The Memorial Service for Dorothy will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Dr., with Chaplain Mary Widmer officiating.
