On December 11, 2011 Mr. Emile Vandean passed away peacefully at Royal Inland Hospital at the age of 94 years.
He is survived by his three daughters Virginia (John) of Agassiz, B.C., Irene (Tom) of Comox, B.C. and Karen (Bill) of Brighton, ON and his three sons Ray (Dawn) of Revelstoke, B.C., Randy (Caroline) of Medicine Hat, AB and Ken of Calgary, AB; fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren and two sisters Jean Gagne and Tracy Sary and by his good friend Audrey Berry.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Mary.
Emile was born in Forget, Saskatchewan on May 5, 1917. He served in WWII and then worked at Canada Manpower until his retirement. His great interest in life was spending time with his family at his cabin on Shuswap Lake. In his later years he enjoyed the computer and his time spent among the residents and staff at Berwick on the Park.
Prayers will be recited on Thursday, December 15th, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in Sacred Heart Cathedral. The Reverend Father Andrew L'Heureux will celebrate the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16th, 2011 in the Cathedral. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
