It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Roy Clemenshaw on November 11, 2009 at the Union Hospital. Roy, at the age of 82, beloved husband of Doreen for over 42 years. He will be missed by his sisters in-law, Doreen and Dorothy, his nephews Allen, Larry, Leland, Verdell, and by his nieces Roberta, Lynda,Arlene, Arvella Merle, Laurie, Cathy, and by several cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, George and Minnie Clemenshaw, by his brothers George, Ed, Murph, and Archie, and by his sisters Vera, Margaret, Edna and Norma. Roy was born in Moose Jaw on July 2, 1927, and was raised on the family farm in Archydal. Along with farming with his brothers, Roy sold short line equipment to local farmers, and was also a government crop insurance inspector. He met Doreen in 1962 and the couple was married in 1967, moving to Moose Jaw shortly after. He continued to farm until his retirement in 2004. Roy was a member of ACT/UTC for several years. He loved playing golf, curling and skiing and was an ardent Warrior fan. He particularly loved the trips he took with Doreen to other countries, but especially Las Vegas. He will be missed by all, but particularly by his morning coffee friends at the Co-op. Friends are invited to a time of visitation and coffee at Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St. W. Moose Jaw, on Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Zion United Church, 423 Main St. North, Moose Jaw, on Monday, November 16th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. An interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Moose Jaw. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Moose Jaw Humane Society would be appreciated.
