It is with great sadness that the family of the late Evelyn Barnes announce her passing on Wednesday, November 11th, 2009 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age 90 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughters: Mary (Don) Lake, Marie (Daniel) Killeen and Loretta (Calvin) Cornelius; sons: Calvin Macey (Hilda) and Wayne (Lisa) Barnes; special family member: Genny Gallant; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister: Janet Tucker; homecare worker: Eva Hynes; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband Harry Barnes; son: George Barnes; sister: Lavina “Tess” MacDonald and brother: John Macey. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling street on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m from where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 14th at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Nellie Thomas officiating. Interment to follow at St. Ambrose Cemetery, John’s Beach. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association or to The Canadian Cancer Society.
