Georgina Walker “Jean” Embree, 72, passed away November 11 2009 in the Strait Richmond Hospital. Born in Stellarton she was the daughter of the late Frank & Lucy MacKay.
Jean was a loving wife, mother and friend. She was a proud member of the UFCW. Jean worked as a cook for many years .
She is survived by her husband, Peter; children June, Peterborough; Raymond, Port Hawkesbury; Irene (Larry), Port Hastings; Carolina (Dennis), Ottawa; Lucy, Mexico; Peter (Laurella), New Glasgow; Freeman, Toronto; Shane ( Jessica), Grand Prairie; sisters Lucy, Ora ; brothers George and Everette, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jean was predeceased by a son, Kevin, brother, Buddy and sister, June.
Resting in Green’s Funeral Home, 507 Bernard Street, Port Hawkesbury, today from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from St. Mark’s United Church, Port Hawkesbury with Rev. Sheldon LeGrow presiding, burial will follow in St. Daivd’s Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Green’s Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
