It is with great sadness that the family of the late Robert David Hurley age 61, of Maccan announce his passing on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, surrounded by his loving family by his side.
Born in Maccan, Robert was a son of the late Ronald and Avis (Stanley) Hurley.
Robert was a very kind generous and compassionate man. He was a mechanical wizard who willingly helped anyone who needed him.
In his younger years, Robert worked in the River Hebert Coal Mines for 10 years starting at the age of 19.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary (Landry) Hurley, one daughter Tracy Hurley of Little Pond, Cape Breton, and her two sons Arlen and Elmer, one son Rob Hurley Jr. of Masstown, Colchester County, two sisters Diane (William) Warren of Chignecto and Wendy (John) Miller of River Hebert, one brother Stuart (Marilyn) Hurley of Amherst and several loving nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents, Robert was predeceased one brother Grant and a nephew Charles Hurley.
Visitation will be held on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. all in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst with Pastor Jamie Grooms officiating.
Interment will follow in the Maccan Cemetery.
