Cavanagh, Charles “Donald†- 84, Truro, passed away at home on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, with his loving family by his side. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Charles and Georgina (Reid) Cavanagh. Donald was lifelong resident of Truro and member of First United Church. Donald retired from Stanfield’s with 43 years of service. He served overseas during the Second World War in England and North West Europe and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Thelma; sons, Michael, Alberta, Danny (Shelley), Upper Onslow, Kenneth, Truro; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Rose Cavanagh, England; nieces Dawn and Geraldine, both in Australia. Donald was predeceased by brother, Percy. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 16 from 1-2 pm with a Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26 Tribute Service at 2 pm followed by a memorial service, all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, Rev.
